Meet the Teacher
Hola! My name is Mrs. Erika Perez and I am going to be your Spanish Teacher this year! I've been teaching Spanish to high school and middle school students since 2012 and began teaching in the Academic Academy at Northeast Middle School in 2020. I love teaching Spanish and sharing with students the richness of the Hispanic Culture.
I was born and raised in Chihuahua, Mexico, I attended Universidad Interamericana del Norte where I got my Bachelor's Degree in Communication Sciences.
I am married and have a son; his mane is Benjamin. My family and I moved to West Tennessee from Montgomery, Al in early 2020. We enjoy spending time together, hiking, and traveling.
My favorites:
Food: Italian, Mexican, BBQ, Thai and spicy food in general.
Movie: The pursuit of happiness, Good Will Hunting. I enjoy watching funny movies, and any movie with a positive message.
Color: coral, light blue, light grey, turquoise.
Book: I am Malala, The shack, some of my favorite writers are Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and Isabel Allende.
Drink: Coffee, water, sparkling water.
Season: Fall
Fast food: Burger King, Chick-Fil-A, Panera Bread, Sonic.
Hobbies: traveling, dancing, listening to music, and watching documentaries.
